Fort Wayne Flooring is one of the newer flooring company's in our growing city. Phil is awesome! Walked me through the entire process and why it would cost the amount quoted - from a time as well as a material stand point - only to finish and under budget. I couldn't decide whether I wanted a carpet or laminate floor install, but I ended up choosing the laminate because of the amount of general foot traffic as well as the easy cleanup during the winter months. Definitely will be using them (Fort Wayne Flooring) for more of my commercial jobs and have actually started thinking about upping my timeline on some residential as well - before they get booked up.

I was very impressed with the quality of the product and service we received. There were a couple of issues with the hard-wood flooring installation, but the company was quick to correct the issues, took full ownership and stood behind both the work and the product. But my mother is happy with it so I am happy. Thanks

Flooring vs Floor Covering - What’s the difference?

Flooring is the mainstream term used for a permanent covering of a floor, or for the work of installing such a floor covering. Floor covering is a term to generically, characterize any finish material applied over a floor structure to provide a walking surface. Both terms are used interchangeably but floor covering refers more to ‘loose laid’ materials.

Subfloor - What is this exactly?

The subfloor is the floor beneath the floor covering. The purpose of the subfloor is to provide support and structural strength for the floor covering. Subfloors which are underground (aka below grade) or at ground level are typically concrete. Special purpose subfloors like floating floors, raised floors or sprung floors are used to provide additional support for subfloors. Above ground subfloor (aka above grade) are typically plywood.

Laminate Flooring

Designed to look and feel like your favorite floor fashions, laminate flooring achieves the perfect balance between beauty and function. Replacing old floors with a new laminate surface not only enhances the design of a space, but also improves the value of your home. Laminate Wood Flooring and Laminate Tile Flooring are some of the most popular solutions available.

Luxury Vinyl Flooring

The latest vinyl products perfectly mimic popular flooring fashions. As the name suggests, the appearance of this flooring option is all luxury while the price is more economical. If you’re looking for a floor style that will hold up under the activity of your family, friends and pets, luxury vinyl, also called resilient flooring provides both durability and style. Luxury Vinyl (Plank or Tile) is perfect for wet areas like the kitchen and bathroom.

Carpet Flooring

While Laminate and Luxury Vinyl Flooring provide a feeling or roominess, carpeting can provide a feeling of coziness - warm and welcoming. Carpeting not delivers the look you want, but also provides longevity with many manufacturers even offering stain-resistant designs, now more family and pet-friendly than ever before.

Hardwood Flooring

If elevating the aesthetics of your home is your goal hardwood floor, whether it’s Engineered Hardwood Flooring or Solid Hardwood Flooring, will enhance the design of a space while simultaneously boosting the value of your home.

Engineered Hardwood Flooring - Engineered Hardwood is manufactured using layers of plywood-like wood. Topped with a thin veneer of real wood, engineered hardwood flooring offers the same look and feel of solid planks. Engineered products are excellent for rooms that experience high amounts

Some of the questions people ask  Flooring Contractors Fort Wayne.

What is the average investment for a flooring installation Fort Wayne?
Typically, $6 to $10 per square foot for a new floor installation. The investment can be as low $3 or as high as $18 per square food.

So, for a  medium-sized 330 square foot living area? Your investment will typically fall within the range of $1660-$4,620 for installation and materials - depending on brand.

What could go wrong or what might cause the price to increase during the project?
We write our contracts carefully – so customers know what’s included, what isn’t and what they are expected to do (e.g., they need to move loose/breakable items prior to our arrival). But we also include that it does not include unforeseen issues in sub-floor. That's because often, we can't see what is under there.
It's one thing when you're ripping up carpet, and you can pull it back to see what's underneath; It's a completely different story if its tile - You really have no idea what's below the surface of your tiles! We try be as upfront about things like this as possible with our clients: we'll ask them if they know anything about their floors before proceeding.

Does new flooring increase a home's value?
While the true ROI of a new floor installation Fort Wayne is difficult to measure, experts have claimed that homeowners can recover as much a 106 percent of their investment - when installing hardwood floors.

Another type of hardwood floor is called engineered hardwood floors. Both have a similar ROI for homeowners -  the final choice often comes down to personal preference.

Other options like luxury vinyl plank & tile, laminate flooring, and waterproofing may not increase the actual value of the home or building, but they all can have a positive impact on the decision of someone renting, leasing, or buying.

How much experience do you have with luxury vinyl flooring installations that require significant sub-flooring preparation?
Luxury vinyl flooring is a surprisingly easy material to install. As long as the installer has done their homework and knows what they're doing, it will be finished in just one day!

The key thing you need to know about luxury vinyl flooring though is that proper subfloor preparation before installation can make or break whether your luxurious new floors last for years.

There are many different types of materials used on commercial projects and most have some sort of imperfection like cracks or broken concrete slabs below them which makes installing anything over top challenging- but not impossible!

Allowing professionals with expert knowledge to handle this important step ensures successful installations time after time so we recommend contacting an experienced company first before deciding who should do the work.

Can you work on multiple projects simultaneously?
A good flooring installer will have a team of installers and they can share their knowledge with other members in the crew.

They'll also be able to advise you on new products or services that might suit your needs better than what they offer. Plus, because these teams are large enough, it's cheaper for them to do business which means lower prices too!

If you're planning more than one project at once--say commercial installation projects--it might make sense for you if an expert is overseeing all aspects instead of having multiple contractors coming into your office space individually without any idea about each others' work schedules or materials-handling strategies such as inventory management and maintenance documentation.

When bidding for a project do you include subfloor preparation costs?
Commercial flooring contractors are usually able to give an estimate based on a set of drawings. But when it comes time to price out your project, you'll want only the base material and labor costs without any subfloor preparation included in those bids so that you can compare apples-to-apples.

Make sure there's no prep work before choosing one contractor over another--do this after they're already at your site assessing what needs doing for themselves!

Commercial flooring contractors may be skilled enough with their hands but often lack knowledge about how much specific projects will cost ahead of time due to being unable or unwilling from seeing them firsthand since most estimates depend primarily upon sketches given by clients, which leaves room for error during estimating.

What is the most popular flooring in homes today?
Most people may think the most popular choice is carpet, but it's actually Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT). Hardwood floors would be most popular, if not for the cost. LVT is a look-a-like like hardwood.

Much cheaper than actual hardwood, LVT is also waterproof, low-maintenance, and handles well in high traffic areas.
